and so it goes . . . . today i found out after many months of suffering, that my incessant Thunderbird crashes stem from not ‘compacting’ my mailboxes . . . especially the empty ones. Apparently the great open source hope for the masses, doesn’t actually delete things when it says it does. Who knew? after posting and whining a few times on the Mozilla Help forum I finally got an answer from a Moderator who was annoyed enough at me to tell me this most precious secret. Hey – I love Firefox – and I am a HUGE believer in the Open Source concept, but frankly If I can’t find an obvious answer to a huge problem I get pretty peeved pretty fast. so much for that. . . . compacting my mailboxes has not stopped thunderbird from crashing – and all i have managed to do is piss off the moderator at Mozilla. hey – you know me…if i ain’t pissing someone off, i’m not really happy.
