I finally got another ‘real’ job with a decent paycheck. So Althea and I are back working on our Maine destinations map. Yesterday we went to Giant’s Stairs on Bailey Island, is just a very short hike with beautiful views in Harpswell Maine. This town takes public accessibility seriously, they know that signage, mapping, parking and promotion keep the residents from shooting the tourists. Especially when so much local income depends on holiday rentals. After we do some hiking, we just park someplace with a view (like Mackrel Cove) and cook up some lunch. Because of the other furry roommates we do a lot more day tripping. The back of the Forrester is quite comfortable for a little napping and noshing. We visit these tourist towns in spring and fall when these pennisulas have very little traffic.
