it's not the end of the world……

but you can sure as hell see it from here…..

This just in from Book Patrol blog: “Wessel & Lieberman Booksellers is pleased to announce an exhibition of the work of Cara Barer.” Let me repeat that for those of you who are hard of hearing….“Wessel & Lieberman Booksellers is pleased to announce an exhibition of the work of Cara Barer.”

Cara Barer is to the uninitiated an artist who uses books as her medium.
Fair enough, there are enough books out there that deserve to be turned into confetti that I have stopped being appalled every time I see someone turn them into toilet seats and lawn ornaments.

Even I must admit that her work is clever and pleasing to the eye, but it’s a fad, it will fade away like cubist nudes.

The part that is sticking in me like a common pin in a shirt sleeve is “Wessel & Lieberman Booksellers is pleased to announce an exhibition of the work of Cara Barer” Wait, let me say it again, maybe it’s just me – “Wessel & Lieberman Booksellers is pleased to announce an exhibition of the work of Cara Barer.” Nope, it’s not me, its the sentence. No matter how many times I type it, it’s wrong. It’s just an oxymoron. Wrong on so many levels, I just can’t type it again.

Have we become so hypocritical that we can no longer ignore such blasphemies and now must embrace them?
