road trip • The onion-skin-thin paper scroll on which Kerouac wrote his Beat classic will be on display today for the first time in Lowell, Kerouac’s hometown, as part of an exhibition at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum celebrating the 50th anniversary of the book’s publication.
